PeekMed enters the Swiss orthopedic market

PeekMed has announced its market debut in Switzerland. As a testament to its commitment to global accessibility, its innovative medical device is now ready to make a significant impact in the Swiss healthcare landscape.

Switzerland, renowned for its commitment to healthcare excellence, faced a distinctive challenge in 2021 with some of the highest hip and knee replacement rates in Europe. The Health at a Glance 2023 Report(1) from the OECD revealed that Switzerland led these surgical interventions, emphasizing the critical need for advanced orthopedic solutions.

As PeekMed’s authorized representative navigated Swiss regulatory intricacies, it recognized the unique opportunity to contribute to the country’s orthopedic healthcare challenges.

As part of the regulatory process, PeekMed’s authorized representative took the necessary steps to notify Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products. This crucial notification process involved providing detailed information about PeekMed’s product and its intended use. Swissmedic, in turn, ensured PeekMed’s compliance with Swiss regulatory requirements.

João Pedro Ribeiro, PeekMed’s CEO and co-founder, stated “As PeekMed embarks on its Swiss journey, we remain steadfast in our mission to enhance patient well-being through innovative medical technologies. Switzerland faces challenges with hip and knee replacements, and we aim to be part of the solution. We want to be more than just a pre-operative planning company; we want to be an everlasting partner for orthopedic professionals and patients globally.”

PeekMed’s CE marking, symbolizing conformity with European health and safety standards, laid the foundation for our European expansion. With Switzerland as the latest addition to their repertoire, PeekMed continues determined in its mission of making advanced orthopedic solutions accessible across borders.
