Entrepreneurship in Health Care, Information Technologies and Davos Conference Debated

The P-BIO annual gathering took place on 8 April at Hotel Vila Galé Ericeira. This year it was dedicated to investment and entrepreneurship in health care, the multi-disciplinary approach between medical and biological knowledge and other technological areas, particularly information technologies. The gathering was sponsored by Caixa Capital.

Concepts such as personalized or precision medicine, genomics, big data, e-health and biosensors will contribute to the topic of Revolution 4.0, led by a panel of specialists from a diverse range of areas.

P-BIO President Filipe Assoreira mentioned the “pertinence of the topic and the need to increase the connection between companies and research and development centres, in view of generating intellectual property that can reach the business world as soon as possible.” He went on to add that “biotechnology and medtech are keys to innovation and development in our economy, these being two essential elements in the construction of a more dynamic ecosystem that generates value and employment”.

The closing ceremony was conducted by Portugal’s Economics Minister.
