NeuroSoV is a biotechnology company (spin-off from the University of Beira Interior) driven by a single purpose: to bring new hope to people living with Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Every day, our team works to transform cutting-edge science into tangible solutions that can truly change patients’ lives.
Our research began with a simple idea, that targeting the roots of oxidative stress could alter the course of neurodegeneration. From this vision emerged N1(4)inh-IL, a pioneering compound based on ionic liquid technology that acts on NOX1/NOX4, key enzymes involved in neuronal damage. Designed to go beyond symptom relief, this therapeutic candidate aims to slow or stop disease progression, addressing one of the greatest unmet medical needs of our time.
Founded in 2020, NeuroSoV is part of a vibrant ecosystem that connects universities, hospitals, and industry partners across Europe. Supported by initiatives such as PT2020, PT2030, FCT, and the EIC, we are committed to translating innovation from the bench to the bedside.
