The annual meeting of the Portuguese Biotechnology sector
Directed to professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, policy-makers and public bodies linked to the Life Sciences and Biotechnology sector in Portugal, the event aims to provide a stimulating environment full of networking opportunities.
With a diverse program focused on the advancement of biotechnology, BIOMEET 2024 offers a unique platform to share knowledge, explore strategic partnerships and drive the growth of innovative biotech businesses.
The event took place at the Taguspark Conference Centre in Oeiras, on September 30 and October 1, 2024.

Pitch Competition #BIOMEET24
The Pitch Competition #BIOMEET24 is a competition for technology-based business ideas in the scope of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. The competition takes place under the scope of BIOMEET 2024.
This competition represents an opportunity for future business projects or start-ups to showcase their innovative concepts to the national biotechnology community and investors, potentially securing the support needed to advance their ventures.
In addition to the prize money of €1,000 (one thousand euros), the winning team will also be offered P-BIO’s first annual membership fee for the year 2025 and free access to P-BIO’s mentoring network – BioMentors Club.
The deadline for submitting applications to the competition ends on July 17, 2024, at 11:59 PM (UTC+1).

The Oeiras Municipality plays a crucial role in scientific and technological research, as well as in the development of innovative solutions in Portugal. Oeiras accounts for around 30% of the country’s technological capacity, consolidating its position as an important center of excellence in science and technology.
Oeiras’ significant technological capacity, the presence of renowned institutions, the major international funding obtained by these institutions and the existence of Taguspark – one of the largest science and technology parks in Portugal, highlight the importance of Oeiras as an innovation hub and contribute to boosting scientific progress, economic competitiveness and sustainable development in the country.
HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE
By car: if you are coming from the center or north, you can use the A1, A8, A13 or A17 highways. If you’re coming from the south, you can take the A2 and A6 highways. From Lisbon, you can take the A5 (towards Cascais, take exit 7 – Porto Salvo) or the IC 19 (towards Sintra, take exit Cacém, towards Paço d’Arcos).
By train: you can take a train on the Lisbon-Sintra line (and get off at Cacém and Barcarena stations) or Lisbon-Cascais (and get off at Paço de Arcos or Oeiras stations), and take a bus or car to Taguspark.
By bus: you can take the Valley Shuttle, a free service run by the Municipality of Oeiras, which runs between Paço de Arcos train station and Taguspark on weekdays between 7am and 7pm. You can also take Carris Metropolitana buses from Lisbon, the Sintra line and the Cascais line. Check the specific timetables and fleets for Taguspark here.
