Biotechnology at the service of Agriculture.
Deifil is a plant biotechnology company founded in 2010 whose mission is to put “biotechnology at the service of agriculture.” In this sense, Deifil’s priority is the production of plants whose reproductive system is not efficient or insufficient to meet the demands of the market in order to make products available to meet the needs of the main areas of activity. This way, the pioneer company in Portugal in the use of in vitro culture of fruit trees has an annual production capacity of around two million plants.
Deifil uses biotechnology tools to meet the needs of agriculture, producing high quality plants, ensuring their phytosanitary quality and genetic standard. In this sense, the company applies modern techniques of in vitro plant propagation for species whose reproduction systems are not efficient. In addition, Deifil’s products are developed according to the needs of each customer, where the commitment with Research and Technological Development to obtain new products aims at the improvement of its productive processes.
Deifil also has a well consolidated R&D nucleus and its own Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, as well as partnerships with several Research entities, from reference R&D Centers to companies from different activity sectors. From these partnerships resulted the R&D projects: ValorNatural, BIOma, PreVineGrape, MiChesnut3, BreedMartainha, CRISPit and CC&Nuts.
