P-BIO, the Portuguese Biotech Association, in partnership with EuropaBio celebrates the European Biotech Week, from the 25th to 28th of September.

The main purpose of such initiative is to provide an in-depth debate on the future of Biotechnology in Portugal as well as to tackle several other important topics that will enable the broadening of horizons and setting Portugal as a model in this area, worldwide.

Over the recent years, Portugal is being associated to entrepreneurship and innovation, playing an important role in its expansion, contributing and collaborating with key stakeholders to develop a successful ecosystem.

The Portuguese biotech ecosystem is living one of its most important years; both local and foreign investment in portuguese technology and the organization of international events such as the Web Summit have been paramount for the exciting moment we are living in.

The European Biotech Week will thus host the following main events:

  1. A) 25 September, INL, Braga – BioNano the border between Biotech and Nanotechnology
  2. B) 26 September, Biocant, Cantanhede – Sustainable Growth Strategy
  3. C) September 28, AESE, Lisbon – Open Innovation Day, stage for the innovative company to be attended by stakeholders and investors

Furthermore, on September 28th, at AESE Lisbon, there will be a Final Debate where best practices will be shared, and how we can better evolve as an ecosystem; Hans Schikan, former CEO of Pronsensa, will head the session as keynote speaker.

We hope this initiative might be a key promoter in pursuing a successful path for the biotechnology in Portugal and we therefore encourage you to join us.
