1. Introduction

APBIO – Associação Portuguesa da BioIndústria, headquartered at Biocant Park – Parque Tecnológico de Cantanhede, Núcleo 04, Lote 02, 3060-196 Cantanhede, VAT No. 504767941 (hereinafter referred to as the “Event Promoter”) is organizing BIOMEET 2025 – the annual meeting of the Biotechnology sector in Portugal (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”), to be held on September 29 and 30, 2025, at the Taguspark Congress Center, in Oeiras, Portugal. Access to the Event by participants (hereinafter referred to as “Consumers”) is subject to registration and accreditation, a service provided by Bluetrend Technologies, Lda, headquartered at Instituto Pedro Nunes, Rua Pedro Nunes, Edifício D, 3030-199 Coimbra, VAT No. 509999328 (hereinafter referred to as the “Service Provider”), an external company contracted for this purpose. The Service Provider is not the promoter, organizer, or owner of the Event.

2. Liability

All content and prices described and displayed on the event website (https://p-bio.org/biomeet/) are the responsibility of the Event Promoter and may:

    – be changed at any time without prior notice;

    – be outdated or contain errors.

As the organizer, the Event Promoter is solely responsible for ensuring that the Event and any content described complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and that the goods and services described are provided accurately and satisfactorily.

For all stages of access and purchase on this website, the Service Provider is only obligated to make reasonable efforts. It disclaims all warranties and any liability for inconveniences or damages inherent to the use of internet, including service outages, external intrusions, viruses, or any force majeure as defined by law, to the fullest extent permitted.

If errors occur on the website despite all precautions, the Service Provider cannot be held liable.

These general sales conditions are agreed upon between the Event Promoter and the Consumer who accesses the website and makes a purchase through it.

Making a purchase on the website implies express acceptance of these conditions.

By accepting these Terms, the Consumer confirms that they have read and agree to the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy applicable to all Consumers.

If the Consumer is using the Services on behalf of an entity, they agree to these Terms on that entity’s behalf and warrant that they have the authority to do so.

3. Privacy and Consumer Information

The Event Promoter is committed to protecting the personal data provided by the Consumer or collected via the registration/purchase form on the website.

All technical measures are taken to ensure the privacy of entrusted information.

Security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized third-party access to personal data.

The personal data collected is used for event registration, ticket generation, invoice issuance, and communication related to the ticket, invoice, or any event cancellations or unexpected changes.

Payment data is not stored. Each time a Consumer makes a purchase – even if registered – new payment details will be required.

Consumers may request deletion of their personal data from the database at any time.

4. General Sales Conditions

The services offered for sale are described and presented as accurately as possible.

The entity responsible for invoicing is the Event Promoter. Due to the nature of the organization, prices shown on the website are in euros and exempt from VAT under Article 9 of the Portuguese VAT Code (CIVA).

5. Event Registration

To register for the Event, the Consumer must:

    – provide the necessary information for registration and ticket issuance;

    – select the ticket type according to available options;

    – provide billing details, if applicable;

   – select the desired payment method and, after confirmation, provide the required data through the payment gateway and/or bank to complete the purchase successfully.

Each registered Consumer is solely responsible for maintaining account confidentiality and controlling access by third parties.

The Consumer assumes full responsibility for all actions carried out through their account.

Purchases are only processed after payment confirmation.

6. Changes, Cancellations, and Refunds

The Event Promoter reserves the right to make substitutions, changes, postponements, or cancellations regarding the Event’s content, format, themes, name, speakers, panelists, sponsors, location, schedule, or dates.

The Event Promoter reserves the right not to accept cancellations unless due to force majeure that prevents the Consumer from attending the event. Requests must be submitted in writing to apoio@p-bio.org, with relevant documentation attached.

The Event Promoter reserves the right to cancel a purchased ticket and issue a refund if:

    – the Event is postponed or cancelled;

    – force majeure circumstances occur.

7. Payment

The Service Provider acts as a limited agent of the Event Promoter for processing payments on this website, using third-party payment service providers.

Available payment methods for Consumers include:

    – Multibanco Reference

    – MBWay

    – Bank Transfer

Payments via Multibanco and MBWay are securely processed through IfThenPay, an Authorized Payment Institution supervised by the Bank of Portugal (registration no. 8707), headquartered at Rua de S. José, 771, 4535-404 Santa Maria de Lamas, VAT No. 510450024.

7.1. Payment Methods

Multibanco Reference

After confirming the purchase, the website will display the entity, reference, and amount which can be used to pay at any ATM or via home banking. This information is also emailed to the Consumer.

No proof of payment is needed.

The Event Promoter reserves the right to cancel the purchase if payment is not made within 48 hours. 

MBWay

After confirming the purchase, a payment request is immediately sent to the Consumer’s mobile phone via the MBWay app, which must be accepted to complete the purchase.

No proof of payment is needed.

The Event Promoter reserves the right to cancel the purchase if payment is not completed within the time limit imposed by the MBWay application. 

Bank Transfer

After confirming the purchase, the website will provide the required payment details, including entity, IBAN, BIC/SWIFT, and amount. This information is also emailed to the Consumer.

Proof of transfer must be sent to apoio@p-bio.org.

The Event Promoter reserves the right to cancel the purchase if payment is not made within 7 days. 

8. Ticket Delivery

Each purchase is only processed after payment confirmation.

Once processed, a confirmation and the corresponding invoice will be sent to the email address provided during registration.

Subsequently, the event access ticket will be sent to the same email, with a unique QR code for accreditation purposes.

9. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

All purchases under this agreement are subject to applicable Portuguese law. Any disputes arising from the interpretation, application, or fulfillment of this agreement shall be submitted to the Judicial Court of the District of Coimbra, with the parties expressly waiving any other jurisdiction.
