Privacy Policy

Privacy and personal data protection is a priority commitment of P-BIO – Portugal’s Biotechnology Industry Organization (hereinafter referred to as P-BIO), based in Biocant Park – Parque Tecnológico de Cantanhede, Núcleo 04, Lote 02, 3060-197 Cantanhede, Portugal, with tax ID number 504767941.

This Privacy Policy applies to the collection and processing of personal data developed within the scope of P-BIO’s activity, including the website, online tools and initiatives and services managed by this entity. The personal data provided to us during the interaction with the various services will be treated with the security and confidentiality required by the legal framework regarding the application of the EU Regulation 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), implemented since 25th of May of 2018.

   1. Personal data
Personal data is information about a natural person, identified or identifiable. An identifiable person is a person who can be directly or indirectly identified. Examples of personal data are name, address, email, identification number, IP address and cookies.

The personal data that might be collected by P-BIO include name, surname, email and mobile number. In specific initiatives, audio or images can be collected, always informing the holder of personal data about this condition.

    2. Personal data holder rights
Under the GDPR and other applicable legislation, the holder of personal data has the following rights: right to information, access and rectification or deletion of personal data; the right to data portability; and the right to limit or object the data processing (where applicable).

The withdrawal of consent to the processing of personal data can be done at any time, without compromising the validity of the data processing carried out until the moment of the request.

The holder can exercise his rights in writing, via email, to the following email address: comunicação@p-bio.org.

The holder has the right to file a complaint regarding the processing of his data, addressed to the Portuguese Data Protection Authority.

   3. Personal data retention
The processed personal data will be retained by P-BIO for the period of time necessary to fulfill the purposes that motivated its collection and retention, in accordance with the law, guidelines and decisions of the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, or until the holder exercises the right of opposition, right to be forgotten or withdraw the consent previously given (when applicable).

   4. Personal data transmission
In order to carry out activities / initiatives, P-BIO may have to share personal data with other entities, such as business partners and service providers. P-BIO is committed to take the necessary contractual measures to guarantee the protection of personal data by subcontractors, under the terms of the law.

   5. Final considerations
P-BIO is committed to adopt all measures and procedures necessary and adequate to guarantee the security of files containing personal data, in order to safeguard them against destruction (accidental or unlawful), accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized dissemination or access, and against any other form of unlawful treatment.
